Quick Video journal of my training from 2/8/2018. I did 20x through the Shaolin Tiger Crane Duet, a long and complex form that is part of the test from 2nd-3rd degree Black Belt.
I do this to keep my skills sharp, keep myself engaged with the material, and be the best teacher possible. That being said, 20x was not easy. It took a lot out of me, and I got it done in 59:49.
I have a new training method that I'm trying out where I pick 3 katas: 1 easy one, 1 medium one, and 1 super hard one. Then I work through a list of practicing each one 5x, 10x, 15x, and 20x.
My current list is Cotton Fist (done), Tiger Crane (done), and Shaolin 5 Animal Fist (just need to do the 20x). It's great training because as I go, it just gets harder and harder and requires more from me.
Only one more practice left to finish out the set.
That's doing the 5 Animal Fist 20x through. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it. I'd also be lying if I said I was.
What happens after I finish the whole set? That should be obvious...
I pick 3 new katas and start again. :)
See you out there, kids.
